The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced the launch of its own nonfungible token (NFT) collection in collaboration with blockchain firm Modex, just in time for the 2023 Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Premiere on December 15 and Digital Collectibles Galore

The inaugural collection, set to debut on December 15, consists of 100 unique NFTs. These exclusive tokens will capture memorable moments from the tournament. Also, they will provide lucky holders with the opportunity to secure tickets to the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup 2026 final.

Adding to the excitement, an additional 900 digital collectibles will be released on the Polygon network and OpenSea throughout the month. These collectibles will showcase a digital representation of cherished memorabilia and iconic tournament moments. Further, they will offer fans a unique and immersive experience.

Hosted on FIFA’s namesake platform, FIFA+ Collect, the NFTs will be easily accessible to fans.This move further signifies FIFA’s commitment to embracing digital collectibles as a means of enhancing fan engagement.

FIFA+ Collect Platform Milestones and Clarification on Mint Volume

Since its launch, the FIFA+ Collect platform has celebrated 11 NFT drops, resulting in a staggering 909,255 digital collectibles minted. Impressively, the platform boasts 16,448 holders who actively engage with the NFTs. However, it’s important to note that the reported $2.4 million in trading volume includes both primary and secondary NFT markets.

FIFA+ Collect Info provides a clarification, stating,

”Mint Volume can be misleading as FIFA+ Collect Info cannot distinguish the packs obtained for free in challenges from the packs purchased with USDC.”

This transparency ensures a clear understanding of the platform’s growth and popularity among fans.
