Casio is set to unveil an NFT-based collection of community access passes. Starting from September 23, users can claim one of the 15,000 NFT-based G-SHOCK creator passes.

In addition to this, users will gain access to a dedicated Discord channel for the project. By introducing NFT-based creator passes, Casio is poised to leverage the popularity of its G-SHOCK watches. In an initial community initiative, Casio will invite users to propose design concepts for the G-SHOCK creator pass and allow them to vote on their preferred design.

Casio’s Strategic Choice: Polygon Labs for Web3 Expansion

Casio’s decision to collaborate with Polygon stems from the platform’s capacity to facilitate rapid transactions. This choice ensures a seamless and efficient process for minting and managing NFTs while maintaining a carbon-neutral footprint.

Takahashi Oh, Casio’s Senior General Manager of Timepieces, expressed the company’s commitment to accessibility, innovation, and inclusivity in the virtual G-SHOCK project. He stated,

“Polygon was the most natural and logical choice for us. The goal is for the company and users to work together and develop the G-SHOCK brand, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.”

With this development, Casio joins the ranks of other prominent brands such as Starbucks, Adidas, and DraftKings, which have initiated their projects on Polygon Labs. This collaboration signifies Casio’s strategic move into the exciting world of Web3 and NFTs, extending the legacy of the G-SHOCK brand into the digital realm.
