In September, Cryptoys, a web3 startup backed by Andreessen Horowitz, is preparing to launch an upcoming digital collectibles collection titled “Mickey and Friends.”

This new assortment will feature some of Disney’s most iconic characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto. CEO Will Weinraub described this as a groundbreaking way to experience Mickey Mouse and expand the reach of these beloved characters in the digital realm.

Expansion into Disney’s Iconic Characters

After previously releasing crypto collectibles centered around popular Star Wars characters from Disney, Cryptoys is venturing further into the Disney universe by introducing a collection that showcases characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto.

Cryptoys gained attention last year with a $23 million funding round led by a16z Crypto and involving prominent names such as Mattel, Dapper Labs, Draper & Associates, Acrew Capital, CoinFund, Animoca Brands, and Sound Ventures. Moreover, the “Mickey and Friends” digital toys collection, priced at $39.99, will release in September.

Rarity Structures and Features

The “Mickey and Friends” collection will adopt a similar rarity structure to previous releases by Cryptoys. Further, this structure includes Common, Rare, Legendary, Grail, and Ultra Grail rarity levels.

The collection will comprise five types for each of the featured characters: Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto. In addition, the livestream unveiling of the collection also mentioned that VeVe Digital Collectibles, a different entity, had previously introduced NFTs (non-fungible tokens) based on the globally renowned Mickey Mouse.

Honoring Iconic Characters

Will Weinraub, CEO and co-founder of OnChain Studios, the parent company of Cryptoys, also expressed the significance of collaborating with Disney to bring these beloved characters to life as digital collectibles.

Moreover, Mickey and Friends are widely cherished and globally recognized figures, making this endeavor an honor for the Cryptoys team. This initiative aligns with the company’s mission to create unique and engaging digital collectibles.

The upcoming “Mickey and Friends” digital collectibles collection signifies a significant expansion for Cryptoys into the realm of Disney characters. Moreover, this move demonstrates the company’s ability to captivate audiences by combining digital innovation with beloved pop culture icons.

Further, as the release date approaches, enthusiasts and collectors can anticipate exploring and acquiring these unique digital collectibles that pay homage to the iconic Mickey Mouse and his companions.
